Founder
Kimala K. Franklin comes with nearly 20 years of nonprofit organizational and development experience as well as small business start up experience. She has her Masters Degree in Global Management and her Bachelor Degree in Communication Studies. Kimala served the Chicago land communities through one of the largest worldwide humanitarian organizations from 1995 to 2009 and is responsible for nearly $15 million dollars of operational monies that flowed through a few domestic programs in Chicago. She is also responsible for developing the original community facility and program operational manuals that are currently being used as an economic empowerment guide in several organizations around the country.
Kimala had the opportunity to travel around the country with the Chairwoman of President Bill Clinton’s Economic Empowerment Initiative in the late 1990s. She had the opportunity to look at community economic empowerment in all its facets. A specialist in business and program development, relationship building, and marketing, Kimala has used her leadership and management experience to develop various programs throughout the Chicago land area and sat on various boards. She has facilitated and presented at nearly 80 major functions throughout the United States on community development, economic empowerment and networking initiatives.

Company History
F & L Consulting was founded in 2000 when Kimala K. Franklin (Founder & Owner) assisted in the closing of a $100,000 grant for her former nonprofit employer. Shortly after, she was flooded with calls for her assistance. Kimala learned development and grant writing skills through voluntarily assisting other organizations and ministries. What began as a hobby transformed into a passion for Kimala to work with nonprofit organizations and small businesses to see their programs and services go from fair or good to great.
The goal of F & L Consulting is to come along side visionaries to take an idea, product or program and bring it to fruition.
